January 25-25 Writing Challenge
Starting Tuesday January 7th, 2025 I will email you each morning with daily writing prompts, poems, and quotes. How you apply these emails is up to you, but they will be there for you for inspiration and encouragement. Try setting a 25 minute timer to see what writing you produce in that amount of time.
We will meet FOUR times for two hours. During class time we will write for 25 minutes (check!) and share some of our writing. I will create a shared Google spreadsheet for you to track your successes if you are the type that gets motivated by that, but no obligation to participate.
I am offering TWO times to meet. Please select ONE.
Wednesday evenings, 7-9 p.m.
Jan. 8, 15, 22 & 29
Fridays, noon – 2 p.m.
Jan. 10, 17, 24 & 31
The cost for the month-long challenge is $100. If you want to do the challenge self-guided and not attend a group meeting, I am offering that for $60.
As always, all levels and genres are welcome. This challenge is not one you can fail, simply a chance to explore and share.
Workshops:
In these small online groups, we write during class using timed exercises and prompts. The prompts can be applied to personal narrative, character work, or as a launch pad for new poems. Some writers instead choose to use that time to focus on a piece that they are already pursuing. We share writing briefly at the end of class the first few weeks, and then later in the session read and comment upon larger chunks of each other’s work. Sharing is always optional. These workshops are open to all genres and levels of writing. Your life is ample experience! The main requirements are to try and to show up for one another.

Welcome-in the time change and the first evening of early dark at Urban Sprout Farm in Atlanta. In collaboration with Yoga by Safia, we will get grounded and ignite our inner light. We will do yoga, write to a prompt, share, and listen. The evening will conclude with soup, wine, and a bonfire.
What to bring: warm clothes, blanket, journal, pen, water bottle, travel mug, and yoga mat. This is a covered outdoor setting.
You don’t need to be a writer or a yogi to participate just willing to show up and have a new experience with other women.
